3 Ways our Portable Pools Equip Children with Lifesaving Skills

Swim:ED

Ensuring children can swim safely is a life skill that shouldn’t be overlooked. Our Swim:ED programme brings water safety and swimming education directly to schools using portable swimming pools – making swimming more accessible and providing children with vital lifesaving skills.

Here are three ways our Swim:ED programme equips children to stay safe in and around water.

  1. Teaching Safe Self-Rescue Techniques

One of the most crucial parts of our Swim:ED programme is teaching children how to perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations. These are taught in and out of the pool, from water safety codes to floating and treading water, all children gain the confidence to handle real-life scenarios.

  1. Building Swimming Confidence and Proficiency

Swimming 25 meters confidently and competently is a key requirement of the national curriculum and a benchmark for our programme. With our portable swimming pools set up at your school, it allows for regular access to swimming lessons, ensuring consistent progress.

Our swim teachers tailor lessons to fit individual needs so that by the end of the programme children feel safer and more competent in maintaining composure in the water, which is crucial for both safety and enjoyment.

  1. Mastering a Range of Effective Strokes

Having knowledge of a diverse range of strokes is vital for safety when in water. Our Swim:ED programme goes beyond basic swimming. Children are taught to use a range of strokes. From breaststroke to backstroke, children are taught to adapt to different swimming styles and situations whether it’s for speed or energy conservation.

Having these skills gives the children the ability to navigate various water conditions and scenarios.

At ActiveMe 360, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn lifesaving skills. Our Swim:ED programme brings the classroom to the poolside, making essential education accessible and engaging. By focusing on safe self-rescue techniques, swimming proficiency and a diversity of strokes equips the children with the tools they need to stay safe and confident in the water.
