Aaron Phipps

I am delighted to be an ambassador for ActiveMe 360. I am really excited to be involved with an organisation who have ambitions to make a real difference to our communities.

Having faced many personal challenges over the years I have experienced how important physical activity and sport is to maintaining personal wellbeing. Therefore, the ActiveMe 360 vision – ‘To engage 50,000 people by 2022, using the power of physical activity, sport and education to change lives and enhance wellbeing‘ – appeals to me. I am excited and really looking forward to supporting their mission.

Aaron Phipps, Ambassador

We are delighted to welcome Aaron Phipps to the ActiveMe360 team as our first official ambassador.

Aaron currently represents Team GB as a Wheelchair Rugby player, having proudly represented his country in the European Championships, World Championships and the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

In 2017 Aaron came out of international retirement in a bid to be part of the Team GB squad for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Having beaten the USA to win the ‘2019 Four Nations’ in May 2019 the team are on course to qualify for the games.

Alongside his commitments to Team GB, Aaron has been a keen fundraiser for the Meningitis Research Foundation, having contracted Meningitis C and meningococcal septicaemia (blood poisoning) aged 15.  This deadly disease resulted in the amputation of both legs and most of his fingers.

In raising over £250,000 for the Meningitis Research Foundation, Aaron has completed two London Marathons and became the first disabled British person to climb Mount Kilimanjaro – the highest mountain in Africa – without assistance.  I am sure you will agree, that is a very special achievement.

As an ambassador, Aaron joins the company at an exciting time as we look to spread our vision, mission and values across Hampshire.  Like us, Aaron is passionate about changing lives and enhancing wellbeing using the power of physical activity, sport and education. As someone who embodies everything we stand for, and a perfect example of overcoming adversity using the power of physical activity, sport and education, Aaron will be an integral part of helping us achieve our mission.
