Active children = Strong students
We live in a world where you can spend most of the day not moving.
This can impact upon your emotional and physical wellbeing.
The Department of Health recommends children do at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day… However, well over half of children aged between 5 and 15 in the UK do not achieve this!
We are on a mission to increase physical activity levels because we believe physical activity is the key to a healthy and successful life.
Teachers and schools have a big part to play in helping children to sit less and move more.We are working to change the mind-set of the nation and inspire children to enjoy being active as much as we do.
By increasing opportunity, improving physical activity and reducing sedentary time, children can and will improve their physical, mental and social wellbeing. Not only this, but it will help to prevent childhood obesity and associated diseases later in life.
According to the World Health Organisation, currently, over 23% of adults and 80% of adolescents are not sufficiently active.
IF healthy physical activity behaviours are established early on in life, this helps shape habits through childhood, adolescence and in-to adulthood.
Can YOU afford not to act?
