Important Update: Christmas Holidays

Over the past 48 hours we have become increasingly concerned about the growing number of Covid-19 cases in our communities and the wider impact this will continue to have on our NHS over the festive period.

Upon reviewing the current situation, and taking into account advice from the Chief Medical Officer to ‘limit social interactions’ and ‘prioritise’ what matters, we have decided to make the difficult decision and change our Active Holiday Camps this Christmas to ‘Essential Childcare’ camps. Our ‘Holiday Activities and Food’ (HAF) programmes in partnership with Hampshire County Council and Southampton City Council will continue to run as normal, and have been deemed as essential to support the children and their families who attend them.

For those booked onto our paid camps next week, we will continue to be there for you if you need us. However, if your primary reason for attending our camps is not for essential childcare, then we are kindly asking you to review your need to send your children to our camps.

As always, our first and key priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our ActiveMe communities and our amazing team. We will always place this above all else in our decision making. We believe that by limiting camp numbers to those who need us most next week, we can better protect everyone on our camps and ensure appropriate protocols are in place to reduce the risk of Covid-19. We wish to reassure you that we will be taking all the necessary steps and precautions to make our camps safe for those who do still choose to attend.

We appreciate this may come as an unwelcome decision for some, and we sincerely wish we could welcome all children onto our camps for another amazing week.
