Overview
The purpose of this qualification is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of how to become a Play Maker and Sports Leader within the school setting. This will allow structured and organised activities to be delivered at break and lunch times, organised and overseen by the pupils.
£399 (plus £12 pp registration and certification fee).

- How to involve and include all participants within your activity to develop understanding of how to safely use a variety of equipment
- Understanding how to keep the playing area safe
- Understanding different communication methods
Prior to registration for this qualification learners are required to:
- Be accurately identified
- Be 9 years of age or over
- Enhance your knowledge of how to become a sports leader within your school
- Develop your understanding of how to lead a variety of activities
- Develop knowledge and understanding of how to involve all participants in your activities
Qualification is delivered over 6 hours. Delivery hours can be 1 hour per week for 6 weeks or 2 hours per week for 3 weeks.
This qualification is aimed at those pupils who wish to gain an accredited qualification and develop their knowledge and understanding of how to plan and lead structured fun, inclusive activities at break and lunch times.

This course can be booked at any time and is completed flexibly around your school timetable. Please note a minimum of 2 hours delivery is required per session. This can be across multiple services offered by Active Futures.
No formal assessment, although learners are required to complete a learning portfolio and deliver an activity as part of a group.
